Poppy

Meet our sweet girl Poppy. People of the neighborhood of Panagoula made complaints about some stray dogs living there. Some of the dogs were caught by the trap but Poppy was too smart and never went in. A volunteer went every other day to feed her until she was able to get her.

Since being at shelter the with us, Poppy has come on along way from not wanting to be touched or interact with humans to now a playful loving girl who is getting used to shelter life and slowly getting used to a lead. We are looking for experienced dog owners who have the time to give Poppy leadership and show her the world isn't all that bad. She is reactive to things she is unsure of (new people and new dogs) but usually gets on well with the dogs in her pen. She has a lot of energy but is also a very smart girl who just needs love and patience. Poppy was born approximately April 2021. She is a medium size dog of 16 kilo.
